Requirements for you to qualify:
- USA Citizenship
- Either you or spouse has earned enough credits via Social Security or Railroad retirement (40 credits in 10 years)

You qualify for full Medicare benefits under age 65 if:

If you are either a USA Citizen or been a legal resident for at least 5 years and have fewer than 40 credits, there is an option to pay a premium.
To receive Part B (Doctor and Outpatient Coverage) you will pay a premium. The credits mentioned above are not necessary.
To receive Part D (Prescription Coverage) you most likely will pay a premium, occasionally a carrier could offer a $0 cost premium. The credits mentioned above are not necessary.
