Plan F & C being eliminated?! Changes in 2020!
Plans F & C being eliminated for NEW Medicare Part A Enrollees in 2020
From time to time, government makes changes to things that cause confusion. This time, they are eliminating Plans F and C for all new enrollees to Medicare Part A in 2020. So if you became enrolled in Part A prior to 2020, this will not affect you. For those that enroll in Medicare Part A 2020 or after, we need to prepare and review your needs. You may ask, why would they eliminate the 2 most popular plans? Well, to be honest, I am not sure. Plan G will be available, and the only difference is the Part B deductible is not covered, which is more of a nuisance than a tragedy, call us to find out why (407) 513-2583.
Beneficiaries That Will Be Able to Keep Plan F or C
If you joined Medicare Part A prior to January 1, 2020, the Medicare supplement Plan F and C will still be available to you. If they meet your needs, and you either qualify medically or attain during open enrollment, you will be able to enroll with one of the many companies for your Medicare supplement Plan F or C after this date.
Beneficiaries That Will NOT Be Able to Keep Plan F or C
If you join Medicare Part A on or after January 1, 2020, you will unfortunately not have the ability to purchase a Plan F or C. The closest plan to F will be Plan G, with the only difference being Plan G does not cover the Part B deductible. Enrollment in Plan G will be the same as it was for F, at initial enrollment and open enrollment you can join with guaranteed issue. If you want to change supplements during the year, you can, however there can be medical underwriting.
